TexMex at Chuy’s

What a great weekend.

The weekend is over and I am trying to think about the things that have happened. Thank you all for sending me messages and e-mails, and for signing my guestbook. I was so happy to see it, and to hear from you.

Thank you to all of you who celebrated my birthday with me. I had tons of fun.

I am now two inches from becoming a real cowgirl. I now have the hat and the boots and I have even received compliments on my two-steppin’-skills!! (I know, it was just polite compliments, but they still count!) Now, what characterizes a cowgirl?? Yes, a six-shooter. I actually went to the gunstore on Saturday to look at weapons… I never thought I would write such a sentence, and the sentence being true!! I’ll just have to repeat it: I went to the gunstore to look at weapons. It’s completely surreal. As you may have figured out, my fear of weapons is now gone.. or gun!!!! HAHA??  Look at the picture of  John Wayne Wannabe.

This week it is only Ivan, and myself who are here in Houston. Mads and Anders went to California, and we just received a message from them about a quick stop in Vegas!! Yes, some people have all the fun!! And Eva and her boyfriend, who is here to visit her, took little Truckie on a roadtrip around Texas. So keep your fingers crossed, ‘cause I am taking the bus to school Tuesday and Thursday.

UPDATE:
Monday I went to the Galleria to buy a dress for the wedding. Oh, how I love the Galleria. There’s always a sale somewhere. After 3 hours of trying on horrible dresses I finally found a pretty one in Ann Taylor LOFT. How lucky was I that it was on sale?? I won’t tell you the price, because you know I had to buy a little belt, a funny necklace, some cute earrings, and the hilarious sunglasses as well…  All of which were found in different shops!! Hehe. What can I say? Shopping is good for your health, I’m sure.

The weddingpresent for the happy couple just arrived, Danish Design specially shipped in from, yes you guessed it, Denmark. I do hope they like it. If not I will keep it for myself. For all of you who know a little bit about Danish Design I’ll just say Rosendahl/Lin Utzon. With that covered I am almost ready for the Wedding on Saturday. I will take a truckload of pictures, so you can see them all.

On Wednesday after my almost regular morning run to the postoffice I received a call from Eva. Her voice was low and cautious when she told me Truckie had broken down!!!! NOOOOO…. How could it happen? She and Mads was somewhere in West Texas in a small town called Alpine, nobody in a 100 mile radius, with a car that wouldn’t move. I was horribly worried. Then I turned mad at the people who sold us the car… Who would be so mean to sell a defect car to two foreign girls??? That cardealer must have been soo happy to get rid of that car. Well, Eva called me back a while later to tell me that the head of engine had to be replaced. Yes, I am talking about that expensive piece of engine Denmarkians call “Topstykket”. My mood lowered as I could see all my money disappear into thin air!! 30 minutes later Eva called again. Now saying that they weren’t going to replace the head anyway, but only some caskets (or something that sounds like that – Sorry for the bad car-lingo). I guess all we can do now is to keep our fingers crossed and hope to see Eva back in Houston tomorrow evening. I am running out of fingers to cross..
